Tried red wine for the first time on thanksgiving but….?
It tasted bad. Is it supposed to taste bad the first time?
Plus when it passed down my throat I could feel the inside kinda burn a tiny bit.
Is that normal?
Also i had a mild stomach ache about 4 hrs later but idk if that was from the wine or from eating too much.
Wine is meant to be sipped on, not to be inhaled like you would juice or soda.
It’s natural to dislike the taste at first. White wine is much easier to take at first than red wine. Red wine is much stronger and more bold tasting. Red wine is something that really grows on you though.. Now I look forward to my red wine at Holiday dinners. I stay away from white wine now personally because I will drink a whole bottle by myself, but with red wine it’s only a couple glasses. And a glass of red wine is not typically a full glass.
Oh and the burning feeling, that’s alcohal. Present with any alcoholic beverages with a stronger abv. (Alcohal by volume %) typically it’s not there for beer (usually 4-5%) but for something like wine and straight vodka, you feel it.
