A bit of red wine was spilled on my butter colored jute rug. I tried the cleaner "Awesome" and scrubbed with a toothbrush, but from the looks of it the stain will still be visible when the spot dries. I think the issue is that jute rugs are very coarse in texture and are tightly knit. Ideas?
I’ve heard white wine helps, but that may only be if you pour it on the red wine right away. Can’t hurt to try. What about OxyClean, that might work too? Or maybe try something like Spray and Wash?

How to Remove Red Wine Stains From a Carpet
Step 1Blot the spill with paper towels or a clean cloth.
Step 2Combine 1 teaspoon carpet shampoo (or dish soap, like Dawn) and 1 cup hydrogen peroxide in a small bowl. Soak a clean sponge in the mixture, squeeze it halfway dry, then gently blot the stain. Continue until the stain lifts.
Step 3Sponge the stained area with warm water.
Step 4Blot dry with a clean cloth or paper towels.
Act immediately. The longer a stain sits, the harder it is to remove.Commerical products like Oxy Clean and Wine Away do an excellent job of removing red wine stains, but try this homemade version if you don’t have either of those on hand.
