It depends on the reason, the person, the atmosphere. There is a lot of things that make a pair of shoes the right ones to wear. There is a lot of things that make a "best" wine.
Settle for a good (or even very good) wine, and you can be fine.
I think champagne is over-rated. I would personally take a good gewurztraminer.
If you are in the phoenix area – the best pizza in the world is made here – according to chefs magazines for the last 20 years – at only one place: Pizzeria Bianco. Right next door is Bar Bianco – anything they have is typically top-notch. I tried the pizza and, as a foodie, it was almost a religious experience. The guy grows his own herbs, grinds his flour, makes his own cheeses and gets fresh local vegetables daily. I had a $15 dollar pizza that was better tasting than the last $115 I spent eating out. Call ahead – take your husband out for a great glass of wine, a great time, and truly the best pizza on the planet.

Here’s what you can do: (as all of these tips were rubbish) Take the hubby to a REAL wine place (that specializes in wines and has a big selection) and go there for a tasting. (tell him something like I wanna go to a wine tasting because it’ll be a fun way to try new wines) and see what he likes and then get that!
